Earliest Elizabethan map of London found

One of the earliest known maps of Elizabethan London during the time of ‘Shakespeare’ has been found during a house clearance. Printed in 1572, it shows two ‘bear bayting’ theatres on the south bank of the Thames, close to today’s Globe Theatre. See full article in the Daily Mail HERE.

The map will be auctioned by Cheffins of Cambridgeshire on 06 May 2021.
