Shakespearean Authorship Trust 2020 Conference poll declares for Oxford

Many of you will have watched the Shakespearean Authorship Trust 2020 online conference and will have seen Oxfordians well represented by Kevin Gilvary, Annabel Leventon and Alexander Waugh. SAT does not promote individual candidates but conducted a poll at the end of the conference, asking: Who wrote the plays ascribed to William Shakespeare? (Similar votes were counted for Who would you like to run the country?) A strong vote for Oxford in such a diverse SAQ setting, although the Shakespearean Authorship Trust has stopped using the Henry Peacham ‘hidden author’ emblem as its logo …

The votes were as follows:

47%   Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford

23%   Group authorship

7% – 5%   Mary Sidney, Bacon, Marlowe, WS of Stratford

2% – 1%   Neville, Derby and Florio

See Alexander Waugh’s video ‘Henry Peacham Knew …’ for more detail on what he knew about Oxford’s authorship:
