The Craziest Literary Feud of All Time by Phoebe Nir

In Phoebe’s latest video she discusses the notorious pamphlet war between Edward de Vere (aka Shakespeare) and Gabriel Harvey, known to historians as “the war of the words”!

Stephanie Hopkins Hughes and Nina Green first advanced the thesis in the late 1990s, and Prechter expanded upon it in his online book, Oxford’s Voices.

If you’re new to Oxfordianism—the theory that Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford, wrote under the pseudonym “William Shakespeare”—you can find introductory videos on her channel to get up to speed.
